An A-maze-ing day
The day started off as we had hoped. Excitement tingled in the air as we readied to board the buses. We left on time and made good progress to the airport. When we arrived, it was the usual - check-in, baggage check, passport control and then the inevitable waiting...

It was so, so, so fun when we went to the airport because we were so excited to go on the plane. - Briana

We took this opportunity to enjoy our snack and relax before boarding. When it was finally time, we eagerly lined up and entered the belly of the beast... all the way to the back. We sat down, swapped seats, buckled in and then flew our way out of Seoul and into Jeju.

On the airplane it was fun because there were lots of clouds and the airplane was going up and down - Jason

The flight was so fast, that it was hard to believe we had left Seoul in the first place. The beautiful views that met us as we arrived showed that we had not only left a bustling city, but entered a paradise.

Our first stop was for a delicious pizza lunch overlooking the ocean. We enjoyed the sights and smells of being in such an unspoilt location. Then it was off to see some amazing volcano tubes. These were massive tubes that lava had cut through the rock. It was a welcome cold relief from the heat of the day! Some of the children were confused by the water dripping on our heads in a tunnel, so we explained that the rock was porous and the water was actually coming from the surface. They all really enjoyed looking at the different layers which had been formed by the lava.

The lava tubes were very interesting, cold and a little scary - Anica

I liked the volcano cave where the lava was moving for a long time - David

In the caves our shoes got wet but we still enjoyed walking in them - Yumin

From there it was off to the maze. The children were challenged to race around a very confusing course trying to find stamps and reach the end. Despite the many dramas and the many wrong turns, all of the children ended up where they should have been... the end.

The maze activity was so fun - Lillian

I like the maze because we were split up and then found everyone - Mingyu and Daniel K.

We ended the day with a lovely buffet at our hotel, which was followed by showers, diary entries, down time and then, finally it was time for lights out and the teachers could relax.

Nothing will stop us from having fun - AbdurRohman
